4TH STOP DUBROVNIK

Dubrovnik war das wohl weiteste Ziel, aber als Game of Thrones Fan natürlich ein Muss! Trotz der langen Strecke ans Ende Kroatiens haben sich diese zwei Tage vollkommen gelohnt.

Dubrovnik was probably the most far reaching destination, but as a Game of Thrones fan of course a must-see! Despite the long distance to the end of Croatia these two days were worth it.

Schon bei der Anfahrt waren wir vollkommen begeistert. Obwohl es schon dunkel war und wir direkt zum Campingplatz gefahren sind, konnten wir kaum abwarten die Stadt zu erkunden.

Already during the journey we were completely enthusiastic. Although it was already dark and we drove directly to the campsite, we could hardly wait to explore the city.

Am nächsten Tag ging es dann also los. Ich hatte mich so auf diese Stadt gefreut und wollte meine Erwartungen jedoch trotzdem runterschrauben, sodass ich nicht allzu enttäuscht gewesen wäre, falls es anders gekommen wäre, als ich es mir vorgestellt hatte.

So the next day it started. I had been so looking forward to this city and wanted to lower my expectations anyway, so that I wouldn't have been too disappointed if things had turned out differently than I had imagined.

Kam es aber nicht. Diese Stadt ist ein Traum! King's Landing ist direkt zu erkennen. Also sind wir mit einer Treppe rein in die Mitte der Altstadt. Wir sind alles abgelaufen, inklusive der Stadtmauer und es war wirklich beeindruckend. Gegen Mittag konnten wir in einer Gasse ein kleines Restaurant finden, welches nicht von Touristen in Beschlag genommen wurde, und haben super lecker gegessen.

But it did not come differently. This city is a dream! King's Landing is directly recognizable. So we went with a staircase into the middle of the old town. We ran out everything, including the city wall and it was really impressive. Around noon we could find a small restaurant in an alleyway, which was not taken over by tourists, and ate super delicious.

Dieser Stop war definitiv ein Highlight des Roadtrips. Leider haben wir nicht so ganz bedacht, dass wir an einem Samstag dort waren und die Menschenmassen kaum auszuhalten waren, aber so ist das nun mal. Kaum zu glauben war auch, dass zwischen all den alten Steinen immer wieder die vollen Wäscheleinen der Anwohner hingen, das war wirklich schön anzusehen.

This stop was definitely a highlight of the road trip. Unfortunately we didn't quite consider that we were there on a Saturday and the crowds were almost unbearable, but that's the way it is. It was also hard to believe that between all the old stones there were always the full washing lines of the residents, that was really nice to look at.

Allerdings kann ich euch empfehlen eine Game of Thrones Tour zu machen, gegen die wir uns entschieden haben. Uns fehlten dann am Ende doch ein paar Infos und ich denke, es wäre ziemlich witzig gewesen. 

But I can recommend you to do a Game of Thrones tour, which we decided against. At the end we were missing some information and I think it would have been pretty funny. 

Nach den gefühlten eine Millionen Treppen, die wir an diesem Tag gelaufen waren, taten meine Waden am nächsten Tag so sehr weh, dass es mir schwer fiel zu laufen, haha.

After the felt one million stairs we had walked that day, my calves hurt so much the next day that it was hard for me to walk, haha.
